Position – Archaeologist, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville Regulatory Division

The archaeologist in this position will coordinate and conduct evaluation of applications for Regulatory Program, especially in the fields of archeological, historical, and cultural anthropology and environmental studies using accepted professional standards and methods; Review proposed activities for presence of National Register properties within areas affected by requested DA permits; Prepare cultural resources input for environmental assessments, findings of fact, and permit conditions; Evaluate applications for permits, and the modification of permits, for activities in waters of the United States; Provide advice to potential applicants/permittees concerning regulatory requirements, including jurisdiction, processing and evaluation, and the likelihood of project approval; and Prepare public notices and/or making preparations for public hearings.
