Position – Associate Curator of Environmental Archaeology, McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville

The McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville seeks a full-time archaeologist to serve as Associate Curator of Environmental Archaeology, to begin as soon as possible. The Associate Curator will coordinate operations, research, and services conducted through the McClung Museum's Laboratory of Environmental Archaeology (LEA) core facility, including working with and training students and other researchers in the use of LEA equipment; serve as Principal Investigator in laboratory and field investigations in archaeology, particularly in geoarchaeology, geophysics, geomorphology, paleoenvironmental analysis, and pedology; and support the museum's ethical and legal responsibility to manage, research, and provide public access/engagement of its archaeological collections, including compliance with Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act and consulting with descendant communities.
