Positions – Digital Curation Specialist/Curatorial Liaison, Mississippi Department of Archives and History

Mississippi Department of Archives and History is hiring two temporary, full-time, grant funded positions geared toward cataloging and stabilizing the state’s archaeology collections. Individuals in these roles will also collaborate with Tribal partners to decolonize and properly contextualize the collections. The Digital Curation Specialist is a one-year fixed position responsible for digitizing records and photographing artifacts, as well as integrating this information into a virtual space for Tribal consultation. The Curatorial Liaison is a three-year fixed position tasked with cleaning, analyzing, rehousing, and recording portions of the collections. This individual will also communicate directly with Tribal representatives to provide insight into MDAH’s collections and to ensure cultural knowledge is included in collections practices and documentation.
