Tulane University to host second annual Indigenous Symposium

The New Orleans Center for the Gulf South at Tulane University will host its second annual Indigenous Symposium, "Sovereignty and the State: Indigenous Challenges to Imperial Claims," on the Tulane campus in Uptown New Orleans on April 2, 2019, 8:30AM-5:30PM.

One of the speakers at the symposium is Jeff Girard, whose talk, "Archaeological and Historical Perspectives on the Colonial Period Caddos of Northwest Louisiana," is scheduled for 9:15-10:00AM, and David Watt will discuss cultural resources and coastal erosion as part of the session, "Ongoing Projects: Research and Engagement Opportunities--Looking Forward to Preserve the Past and to Nourish the Present," from 4:00-5:00PM.
