The Arkansas Archeological Survey (http://archeology.uark.edu) invites applications for a three-year (with possible extension) full-time position as Archeological Assistant to begin as soon as possible. This position is based at our Henderson State University research station (Arkadelphia AR).
Job Description: Duties include collections processing and data analysis, record keeping, fieldwork (some requiring in-state travel), supervising volunteers in the laboratory and the field, and interaction with visitors and callers to the Station, all under the direction of the Research Station Archeologist.
• A Bachelor’s degree in anthropology or a related field
• Archeological field experience
• Archeological lab experience
• Experience in North America, east of the Rocky Mountains
• Experience in working with archeological records and collections
• Experience with the archeology of Southeastern North America
• Experience working with the public
Salary: $24,000 with full benefits.
Starting Date: February 1, 2017 or sooner, if possible.
